"Ready." … The car ride was quiet at first, the city sliding past the windows in a blur of glass and steel. Killian drove with one hand on the wheel, the other holding mine. "So," I said eventually, "this therapist. Do you have someone in mind?" Killian nodded, glancing at me briefly before returning his eyes to the road. "His name is Kane. He's the best in the territory—hell, probably the best in all the packs. Specializes in trauma, grief, pack-related psychological issues. I've known him for years. He's helped a lot of countless wolves through some dark times. Including—” He deliberately paused then sighed. “He's the good . I trust him completely."

I always remember my father telling us that if we ever got into trouble to call Cornelius, but I never knew why until now. I felt more secure after my talk with Cornelius, but I wanted to tell Dillion so he would know what was going on. “Can I tell Dillion about you? I think he is concerned that you might be a threat to me.” Cornelius laughed then hollered for Dillion to come into the office. “You planning on going back?” Killian shook his head no and stopped outside the feed store. “I don’t know my next step. I’m still fitting in on the ranch. Kels did a damn great job and a champion. She sure as hell growing up. The ranch has always been in her blood. Me? I don’t know yet. Still searching I guess,” he confided. I became restless as I spoke, almost forgetting about the cameras in my room. “Celine, can you please relax? It’s so obvious I’m saying things to you right now.
