She nodded, knowing he was right—but hating it anyway. “Kourt,” he said, voice low, fierce, “promise me. If anything happens—” “Don’t.” Her voice cracked. “Don’t you dare say goodbye.” He leaned forward, kissed her quickly, fiercely. Then turned and ran into the dark. Elsewhere, in the Vault Wing Kim moved like a phantom through the corridor—dressed in black, hair pinned, face sharp with purpose. The flash drive in her pocket felt hot against her skin. She rose to her feet and let out a sigh. "I need to talk to you, privately" she said and I turned to look at Haru and Dana. They were still sitting beside Rhea's immobile form. "We'll keep an eye on her. You can go with her" Dana said. "Come with me" I said to Kim. We both left my quarters and went to my office. Kim was one of the oldest members of my pack. She was a werewolf who had never shifted. She was blessed with healing abilities and a compassionate heart. She'd been a member of my father's pack. Can I call you Kim?” “Sure.” Brian examined her now. “You look good…I mean…gorgeous.” Kim smiled. “It was a pleasure meeting you.” She started to walk past him but stopped. When she turned to face him, she caught him staring at her.

As Kim spoke, she moved towards the door and ran out of the room. She locked Elvis inside and went with the keys. On getting outside, she met two bodyguards who saw her actions and got suspicious of her. They saw Elvis enter the room earlier and Kimberly was not supposed to be outside.

The music was vibrating through the walls, and under the dim violet lights, it was getting harder and harder to differentiate people's faces as she passed by them. "We are so going to enjoy this!" Kim said as she tugged on her short skirt that was riding up over her thighs, her halter top barely keeping her breasts from spilling out. She had gotten rid of her glasses for the occasion and instead used contact lenses. "We are going to make most out of it! Let's show those dang furries that we are better than crybabies!"
