I’ll never disappoint my parents like that again and will try to make less trouble for myself and for others. I stepped outside and watched everyone do their works. Mom and Lena are still busy entertaining the guests which now have reached forty in numbers. One of them is our island’s elder, Nana Alona who is also a half-fairy like me. She also has long pointed ears but she doesn’t have a wings like a real fairy and so is me. She suddenly met my gaze that made my heart beat fast. She smiled to ease the awkward silence between us.

And then—from the cracks of the Labyrinth walls—it came. A massive hulking bull… or something that was once a bull. It charged towards us. I’d never seen anything like this before. It was massively huge. Its body had horns coming out from everywhere, and it looked hungry.

"Hello. Is there anyone inside? I want to take shelter, it's raining very hard outside. And I don't know my way out of this forest." The door slowly opened. "Come in Jessy Lycan." 'How did he know my name?' Jessy asked in his heart then he walked to find the owner of the voice. The door slowly closed itself, Jessy looked around and this place looked like a library. There are many books there. "Here." "Good grief!" Jessy was surprised when she saw a little man like a dwarf sitting in the middle of a pile of books. He even pinched her cheeks to see if it was real or not.

I watch him slowly stand up off the bed look at me one last time before disappearing. Quickly I race down the hall, and call for the monster that have been backing me. As they file into the backyard I notice that yet again the numbers are shrinking. My heart is in my throat as I become aware that we are losing precious time to win this. “Thunder? Please come here at once.” The young monster takes a small step forward then another. “Yes, master?”

He collapsed in front of my grave. Moments later, another butterfly appeared beside me. Together, we circled freely in the wind, then soared higher and higher, toward an endless horizon.

Isaac asked her out the next week. Mind back at the corridor, I rushed my pace and then quickly turned into the lab area. My destination was just a few feet ahead, I knew because I had already come here a couple of times. Or maybe just one. A nauseous feeling washed over me and suddenly the corridor seemed to narrow and lengthen before my eyes.
