As we chatted, Thomas came over with a bowl of piping hot special mushroom soup and a few small dishes for me. In the blink of an eye, the butler and the other servants had vanished from sight. He watched me until I had finished everything, then he finally relaxed and leaned back on the sofa. Without any preamble, he asked me, "I've agreed to help you get your revenge on him."

No matter what, he thought I would always need him. He was the one who made broken promises to me once, and now he was the one dragging me down into the depths. I came back to the place that first felt like home, I stepped through the familiar doorway. Marvin, his eyes alight with joy, pulled out a tray of golden-brown sausages and meatballs from the oven. "Tracy, remember how we used to dream about owning an oven that could roast anything under the sun?" He laughed, a twinkle in his eye. "You even teased that you'd want a sausage roaster thrown into your dowry. Look at us now, a dream come true."

"Are you going up?" "No. I installed a remote switch. Efficiency." He pulled a small remote from his pocket. It looked like a garage door opener. "Ready?" Cale asked. "Ready." Cale pressed the button. Click. Above them, in the glass lantern room, a light flared. It started dim, a warm yellow glow. Then it brightened. It turned white. Brilliant. Blinding. The motor whirred. The lens began to rotate. A beam of light cut through the twilight. It swept out over the ocean, hitting the waves, illuminating the whitecaps.

‎ ‎The light. ‎ ‎Forever.

"Ooh, it's dark in here. Fancy a quickie?" I chuckled. "Lee, we should probably turn on the light." "Oh alright." He flicked the switch. "SURPRISE!"

I chuckled, fully aware that the interaction had been relatively tame in the grand scheme of things. "Agreed," Nate replied, although the way he tightly held my hand indicated that he was at least a little shaken up by the whole thing. As expected, Times Square was a thousand times better at night than in full light. The neon signs and billboards illuminated the buildings, their reflections bouncing off the car windscreens simply adding to the magic. There was so much colour, and so many things to catch my attention, making me forget everything else that was happening in my world. As I spun around in the middle of Times Square, my eyes wide like a kid in a candy shop, I noticed Nate admiring

A lighter. “Let me,” I said, grabbing the lighter from him. “But first, tell me what are we really doing here?” He inched closer to me and my heart started pounding loudly against my ribcage. He looked at me intensely that made my knees wobble like jelly. I don't how he got that effect on me. “Like I said, to talk,” he said, his voice sounding muffled because of the cigarette in his mouth. I removed it from his mouth and firmly held it 'til he gave me an answer I'll be satisfied with.

It is an odd sensation and one that she does not care for. “I have to find Mom.” She says. Looking around, she realizes that the whole house is dark, which is odd. Did her father go through and turn off all of the lights? Because that would just be weird. “Why is it so dark?” “A transformer blew and there is a massive blackout as a result. It will be a couple of hours I'm sure, before they can get it up and running once again. I have my flashlight that's on my gun belt. It is small but moderately bright.” Lorenzo tells her.

It could have been a trick of the light or something. "Say something, Luna!" Little tears dropped from his eyes, his beautiful eyes but I couldn't see past the hate. Something was wrong but I was too drowsy to think clearly or offer my mate a reply. At last, I was pulled into darkness and the sounds around me slowly waned. The last thing I heard was Asher calling me the pet name he gave to me. Deliciae.
