My truck rumbles to a stop, the headlights cutting across the clearing. The coordinates Maddox sent in the note led me right here, to the edge of a werewolf pack’s territory. My gut twists as I kill the engine, the silence pressing down heavy. But not silent enough.
I can already hear Maddox’s voice, low and commanding, carrying over the night air.
I step out, my boots crunching on dead leaves. The moonlight reveals him standing high on a fallen tree, his presence towering over the gathered Lycans. My chest tightens at the sight of them, his army, my fathers old pack. Or at least what remains of it.
