A very powerful mind ability. Mavis capitals and towns are abandoned of people. It was safe for fighting not thinking that someone would be harmed. Nathaniel could go all out not thinking of its people's safety. they rebuilt the towns and capitals but they cannot rebuilt the life of their people. From his peripheral vision he saw his brother Marcus walking towards him.

And how had Marcus, a man who had once been so close to us, become entangled in their secrets? "The truth is," Marcus continued, his voice laden with a mixture of sorrow and resignation, "Nathaniel's family has a long history of corruption and manipulation. They have used their power and influence to bend the world to their will, leaving a trail of broken lives in their wake." The room fell into an uneasy silence as his words hung in the air. Nathaniel's face was a canvas of conflicting emotions, his eyes searching for answers, his mind grappling with the revelation that threatened to unravel his sense of identity.

"Caleb Shaw. I live in 3B." She shook it. Firm, brief, professional. The way she shook every hand. "Mara Voss." Biscuit sneezed on her shoe. Nathan was fine — as fine as Nathan ever was, which was a relative term. He'd been awake for thirty-one hours, had rewritten the same chapter opening seventeen times, and had completely lost track of what day it was. Mara spent forty minutes in his apartment talking him off the ledge of his own perfectionism, drank the terrible coffee he made without complaint, and left with a revised deadline and the beginnings of a plan.

“The one whose original incorporation papers have a very familiar signature on them.” Marcus went very still, the easy charm draining out of his face in real time, replaced by the cold calculation of a man realizing, too late, exactly how thoroughly he’d been outmaneuvered. “You don’t know what you’re accusing me of,” he said quietly, all pretense gone now. “I know exactly what I’m accusing you of,” Nathaniel said. “And I have twenty years of documentation to prove it.”
