Caleb and Matthias stood outside, waiting. Meanwhile, Danielle held Matthias' hand, excited to see her mother in the beautiful dress. "Hey, I forgot to ask earlier. What's your name, and what do you do for a living?" Caleb approached Matthias, acting casual. "I'm Matthias Lowell. I'm currently just spending time with my family," Matthias replied calmly. Caleb's face revealed a hint of disdain as he processed Matthias' response, his gaze growing even more condescending as he thought Matthias was jobless.

Mattew walked over and crouched in front of me. He reached out a hand, as if to help me up. "I'm the only one who can help you now. All you have to do is beg me." "You know, I already dissolved my mating bond with Claire. If you just apologize, and beg for my forgiveness, I can take you back." The emotion on his face looked almost real. It made my stomach churn. I recoiled from his touch, refusing to look at him. "In your dreams." Mattew's brow tightened. He was about to say something else when the grand doors to the hall were thrown open. A tall, powerful figure stood silhouetted against the light.

A face I do not know, but eyes that I recognize the expression in immediately — the specific sharp alertness of someone who was exactly where he meant to be. He looks at me. At my slightly undone hair. At the door I just came from, the door was still swinging gently shut behind me, at the room number. He smiles. “Khloe David-Thomas,” he says. Not a question. “I was wondering when I’d run into you.” I do not know this man. But he very clearly knows me. “I’m sorry,” I say carefully. “Do I know you?” “Not yet.” He straightens his jacket. “Matthew Cross. I’m an old friend of your husband’s.” A beat. “We have a lot to talk about.”

After getting herself back in order, she headed back inside the Twilight Club. She had just taken a few steps in when she ran into Thomas. “Miss Murphy, Young Master Matthew is asking you to come over.” Veronica swept a gaze over him in displeasure. “Go back and tell Matthew that I have nothing to do with him. Why should I meet him just because he said so? Does he really think of himself as the god of Bloomstead?” He was just a heartless bastard. Even animals wouldn’t hurt their young, but Matthew actually wanted a fetus that hadn’t even fully formed yet aborted!

Caleb was leaning against the edge of the roof. He looked like a ghost in a hospital gown. His shoulder was soaked red. His face was gray. Standing ten feet away from him, draped in a charcoal overcoat that probably cost more than my father’s first house, was Matthew Collins.

That was why she couldn't identify her. Matthew had escaped normal life since his picture was flying across the media as the most successful tech mogul six months ago. He couldn't go out without bodyguards. “Would you have accepted my offer if I were Matthew?” “I have neither rejected nor accepted your offer, but trust me, it would have been good if you were Mathew, because I want my ex and my best mistake ever to pay for their crime.” “Alright then, but I'm Mathew.” “No one disputes that. Anyone can be Matthew. But Delacruz?” She scoffed. “That name isn’t for just anyone. Better to appreciate your godly looks than call yourself that demon.”

I wonder... if he knows you are harassing Daniel’s future sister in law, I'm dying to know who between us will be staying in the street after this?”
