Max stopped moving, and he turned his head to look at me with eyes as cold and dangerous as winter ice. "David is a pathetic coward who will never raise his voice at you again as long as I am breathing," he promised in a lethal, low tone. He walked back over to me and placed his large hand gently on the small of my back to offer me support. The warm pressure of his palm sent a wave of fresh courage straight down my spine, and it chased away the lingering shadows of my fear. "I am going to stand right beside you, and I will break his jaw if he even looks at you wrong," Max swore with absolute conviction.

a man screamed. When David heard it, he walked there and found Max lying in a pool of blood. His blood, David's heart, shook. He kneeled and fearfully checked Max’s breathing, which barely was there. “Call the ambulance right now; he is alive; I want him alive!” David yelled at his men. People ran around, and soon they carried Max. He was unconscious. David and Robert’s people had searched the whole city; they closed the way to go outside the city.

The blows would never really stop coming from her family though she had nothing to do with them. As expected the DA was calling him and he didn’t want to deal with the other man. Though he also knew that he had to give a run down to the man so everything could be halted for the trail. They had to find David’s part in this. It was never going to be finished though in Max’s eyes. David would never give them everything they needed. It was his sick way of controlling everything now. His mother had warped his brain. Nothing else would really matter to him but himself making everyone wait. That was his power in this.

I walk slowly back towards my house, Chloe, my neighbour and best female friend, appears beside me, staying silent, somehow understanding my mood without having to be told.
