Before love Lies
A phone slid smoothly out from a hidden recess in the wall beside the console, landing softly on the metal table as if it had always been waiting there.
“I am already embedded,” Sam said. “This device is hardened, untraceable, and adaptive. I can transfer myself into any system I touch—phones, vehicles, satellites, closed networks—with ease.”
I picked it up. It felt heavier than it should have, solid, real. “Thank you, Sam. I might need you again… sooner than later.”
“My duty remains,” Sam replied. “But for now, my services are no longer required. Entering hibernation mode.”
