I hurriedly stood up and saw Xavier's car coming in. The driver came out to open the door for him but he beat him to it. I heaved a sigh and waited for him. He opened the door and stared at the man on seat. "Mike, you're back and you didn't tell me?" He growled. "Calm down friend. I had to make it a surprise for you." They are friends. I think. "So, you never told me you have another girlfriend. I'm sure you're getting over Lenora." Mike patted Xavier's back.

Coco leaned closer to Fiona and whispered, “Do you know who he is?” Fiona followed her gaze toward Mike, then shook her head. “No idea.” “He seems to know Miranda pretty well,” Coco said, curiosity practically written all over her face. “Can’t you ask your sister? Maybe she knows him.” Fiona, intrigued herself, picked up her phone and texted Xena. “Do you know the man in uniform? He looks close to Miranda.” Xena glanced at the message, then turned to look across the hall. Even sitting down, Mike stood out. His posture was straight, his presence commanding, and his expression carried a quiet authority.

Not wanting to look weak I force myself to quickly shake his hand. "It's good to see you too. This is my Beta, Xander." I say and Xander steps forward shaking his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you Xander, and this is my son mike. I'll be passing the pack down to him when he turns 21. The little shit's not ready yet!" He says giving him a glare. Mike rolls his eyes before extending his hand for each of us to shake. I get a weird vibe from him but shake his hand anyways. Shit, I get a weird vibe from both of them!

He said this, but deep down, he clearly knew this moment would come. Michael sighed deeply and stood up from the couch as he walked towards the edge of Xander's bed and sat on it. “Xander…” he began slowly, choosing his words carefully. “You need to stay calm.” He first of all said, which made Xander a little bit agitated. In the meantime, seeing the hesitating look on Micheal face, Maxwell sighed and leaned against the wall with a clenched fist before saying, “You are dead bro, to the outside world,” Maxwell finally said.

The man slowly spoke, “Even if you don’t wish to talk to me, do you plan to keep quiet forever? Do you think you’re protesting us if you stop talking?” He still did not get any response. Austin seemed to have decided not to say a single word to the man. Mike pushed his glasses up his nose, his eyes glowing with some unfathomable emotion. He said slowly, “Looks like you plan to wait for your death or turn into a puppet completely.” Austin was stunned and blinked. Mike chuckled, leaned over, and said in a low, casual voice, “Don’t you want to escape?”

He asked chewing something in his mouth, I guess it's gum "Not yet" Mike said making him frown. "Then why are they here?" He asked with the frown still on his face. "They wanna check if it's safe for them or not" "What's gonn' happen if it's safe for 'em? He asked " Then they're gonna go get the rest of their group, three people to be precise" Mike said " To grown ups and a kid" he added hastily "And if it's not?" He asked " Well, it's their choice" Mike replied. The man turned to me still chewing the gum in his mouth making me wonder were he got that from with the whole apocalypse.

I asked, already suspicious because of the way he said it. There was a pause, small but noticeable. “What?” I pressed. “It’s probably nothing,” he said quickly. “Just something the guys at the club were talking about.” “What guys? What were they saying?” “It’s stupid. Forget it.” “No, tell me.” Another pause, longer this time, like he was debating if he should even say it. “There’s this site,” he said finally. “Underground. People make money there.” My grip on the phone tightened slightly. “Doing what?”

Elliot excused himself from them, turning down Laila's offer to dance. “Ha!”Mike laughed out loud,Laila shot him a dead glare before stomping out with Nina following her from behind. “Dude, are you sure you don’t have a thing for Laila?”Xavier questions Mike, giving him the suspicious look. “He does,”Miss Cynthia confirmed his doubts. “No I don’t ,she is so annoying I don’t like her”Mike nervously uttered. “Sure”Miss Cynthia and Xavier agreed in unison,they both glanced at each other before laughing.

The sounds were muffled but unmistakable. Mike stepped back fast, face burning. “Holy shit…” He turned away quickly, heart racing. His mind spun. Jax and the new guy? In the school restroom? He didn’t know whether to laugh, freak out, or pretend he saw nothing. But one thing was clear. His friend was full of secrets. And this one was going to be hard to ignore.
