My fingers twitched at my sides, my mind still spinning from the kiss, from the way he’d looked at me, like I was the only thing in the world worth wanting.
Miles nudged me with his shoulder as we walked, his smirk still in place, though his dark eyes were sharp with something unreadable. "You’re quiet," he said, his voice low, teasing. "Did I break you, hybrid?"
I rolled my eyes, though my lips twitched despite myself. "You wish," I muttered, shifting the books in my arms. "I’m just thinking."
"Dangerous habit," Miles said, his tone dry. "Especially for someone with a brain as overactive as yours."
