Honestly, my advice is to just read the core four in order, then circle back for the extra content if you're still invested. Getting bogged down in the 'perfect' order almost ruined my enjoyment. I've seen some readers argue the series actually ended a book earlier for them, with 'Alpha's Temptation', and everything after was bonus material. I don't agree completely, but I get where they're coming from.
