I said, and he smiled at me, but it was a sad smile.
“Kari didn’t talk to me for two weeks,” he said, and sighed.
“I should never have said anything,” I replied.
“I shouldn’t have reacted the way I did,” Gunnar said. They still had four months to go before they turned 18, and Kari shifted and imprinted on me, hopefully.
“So, Fresno,” Gunnar said, after a while, and I smiled.
“It’s different,” I said, and shook my head. “It’s grown on me.”
