I needed to feed my monsters or there would be consequences. “Hi, handsome. Would you like some company?” I turned and saw an attractive blonde standing next to me. Perfect. I thought to myself. She wasn’t my usual but she would do. So I started my game again. Within thirty minutes she was walking out the door with me. We walked over to my car and I held the door as she climbed in. I smiled to myself as I climbed into the car and drove her to her death. This wasn’t how I wanted the night to end at least not with this woman but it would hold off my demons for now.

Unbeknownst to Kyle, it was just a temporary rule to seal his fate and someone else's. Drew Chen. The muscular, tall and handsome jet black haired and green eyed Werewolf and Witch. Drew smiled and walked towards his cousin Kyle. "It's been long since we saw each other. Why that look?" Drew said pouting his lips. "I know why you are here. What method do you guys want to use now to force me into getting married?" Kyle asked with a deadpan expression.

She nodded and gazed at the man who I still didn’t know the name of. “Yes, sweetheart. Your life as a human has finally come to an end. From now on, you’ll start anew as a werewolf, a new member of the Crimson Shadow pack. Since you’ve come of age, you will be attending the mating season, and from there you will meet your mate, your fated pair.” Aunt Alice’s words were encouraging but her last statement told my gut that I’d be in serious trouble… …mating season?

I insisted. “On what.” “Werewolves,” I blurted out, standing up while staring at him. I did not miss the slight parting of his lips before he masked the surprise with concern. “Werewolves? Are you a fan of one of those werewolf horror movies? To be honest, I do like them a lot too. They’re better than the mushy romances teenagers are always writing about us.” “Us?” “Humans, and also werewolves, demons, angels.”

Once a member of a Hunters family turns eighteen, generations of knowledge get passed down in the form of rigorous training and drilling of the rules, whether or not they want to participate in this brutal business. These modified rules have been created into a moral code amongst themselves that must be followed at all times. While simple, the code covers many situations. ~Hunters only hunt werewolves who harm humans as long as there is proof. ~Hunters do not kill younger werewolves, particularly children. ~Hunters do not kill humans. ~Hunters have to follow the "honours code" to end their own life if bitten by a werewolf. ~Not all hunters follow the code.

I shiver inside uncontrollably. Something about that promise feels so… fucking intimate. He releases my scruff to stroke a hand down my neck to my throat. “I see you in there, little Wolfie,” he whispers, his intense eyes holding mine. “I know your wolf has already taken over but we will help you regain control.” Finally, his soft voice soothes some aches deep inside me. Untill I remember his name. Thaddeus Munster. The monster who slaughtered his mate. His eyes narrow as though he can read my mind.

I unstalled it quickly and had it open no more than barely enough to look through. What I saw made me shudder. fires burned in the streets. Black-helmed men moved between buildings with a presence too large—to too utterly big—to be mere bandits. The air rang with screams of human beasts And then I beheld them. Werewolves. Not the usual wolves, but giant red-eyed beasts with speck-covered glowing fur and blood. Werewolves. I struggled to gasp, as finally realization caught up. No bandit raid, this time. War had come to Green Hills.

I said, only a little sarcastic. “The only monsters in my house are you and me, and I can’t fit under your bed,” he said in a bland tone. “Har-har.” I mocked him. I didn’t want to think of myself as a monster, even if I was. “The most common in this particular city are Demons, Gargoyles, Vampires, and Witches. Werewolves do roam around here every now and then, but they like more open space for when they shift,” he continued like there had been no banter between us.

"Don't worry, Riles, just do all you can and stay out of my way," I pushed her closer to the tree. "I can win it. I only need you to trust me and not interfere." "I believe in you," she said. I nodded, smiling at her. The smile immediately vanished from my face as the monster spoke in my head again. "It's very cute to see you both touchy. No one has been able to defeat me, and no one can. Not an incompetent werewolf like you. A werewolf that barely knows her origin." the monster laughed.

he sneered, his voice dripping with malevolence. "You will regret crossing paths with me." I stepped forward, my gaze locked on him. "Reveal yourself, monster!" The man chuckled darkly. "You think you can stop me? I have powers you can't even fathom." With a swift motion, he transformed into a hulking, monstrous creature—a werewolf. His eyes glowed with an otherworldly fervor as he lunged at my team, teeth and claws bared. We sprang into action, guns drawn and hearts pounding. Bullets pierced the air as we fired upon the beast, but his supernatural resilience proved formidable. He retaliated with lightning-fast strikes, forcing my team to dodge and regroup.
