Argo added as he saw Kira grimace when she swallowed the daily dose. “Is there anything else?” Kira asked, ignoring his question. “Staying happy is the key, you know, my lady,” Argo smiled politely. Kira, who felt nowhere remotely happy, smiled back at him. “If you need any help or assistance, I am here, all you need to do is howl, like literally,” Aron grinned, picked up the empty potions bottles and left with a bow.

The roads were empty and the houses around were still dark. A car drove past the inn and I immediately recognised it to be an out truck. I nearly yelled at Xavier that a truck belonging to us had driven past the inn but then I remembered what he said about moving separately to avoid being spotted by the Argents. I relaxed and leaned against the window. I had never heard of the Argents and Colin had never made mention of them. Argent meant silver, that I knew. I knew silver was an enemy to our species. Colin had used it in punishing offenders. He had a silver knife which he kept hidden away from sight and before he used it, it took a lot of painstaking carefulness.

“Looking for something, Mr. Reign?” The voice was velvet over steel—deep, commanding, and far too calm. Luke spun around, yanking the USB free so fast it nearly flew across the room. There, filling the doorway like he owned the very air, stood Argon Graves. CEO. Forty-something, broad-shouldered, with sharp cheekbones that could cut glass and eyes the color of storm clouds right before lightning struck. His tailored black suit hugged a body built for power, not boardrooms. Rumors said he’d started the company with nothing but ruthless ambition and a willingness to break anyone who got in his way.

Argo woke up very early in the morning, he had a dream and in that dream he met Rames, the god who asked him to wake up right away and meet him at a nearby river. They would talk about the assault or rather the kidnapping. Argo got up and without blaming the torchlight, he slowly exited the tent, trying not to make a sound. The plains of this camp are inhabited by countless inhabitants and many of them have a hearing as sharp as wolves. He even walked on tiptoe. Argo had no trouble seeing, apart from the light of the moon…he is used to the dark night. Although he is not a half-human nocturnal animal, like Riri...he has been trained to see in the dark, even though his vision is limited.

“Yes, and I will see that we coordinate. We need to make sure you can take the pressure.” I made a face at the thought of being tired to my bones and Meredith laughed. She placed a hand on my arm and shook her head at me. “It will get a lot easier. Part of the reason why Argon sat in on the meeting was to see your understanding of the element. Besides, there are too few fire witches in your generation and I am really happy to see someone who understands the element,” Argon spoke roughly. “Fire will give a boost in energy. It won’t suck the life out of you as Earth does,” he scoffed at Meredith.

Fake concern maybe. “I am Arthur Murray. The curse mean nothing to me.” He said stubbornly. “Arthur…” I called his name. My tone was soft and warm. He looked down to meet my gaze. “Whatever it is your decision is, just know I am here with you and by your side okay?”

Austin replied, acknowledging the guard’s one. “Dispose of the bodies.” saying that, he walked to the room where Jonathan was waiting for him and to his surprise, Marcelo was also there. “What are you doing here?” he asked Marcelo. “I came to the base on your father’s instruction. He heard what happened at the fundraiser and he sent me here,” Marcelo answered. “I’m fine, you can go now,” Austin said coldly. “Well, that just clearly proves that you are not okay,” Marcelo retorted.
