Nina's animated chatter made the prospect of the coming months seem almost tolerable. "Especially Kim," Nina said, her nose wrinkling in distaste. The name snapped me out of my reverie. "Who's Kim?" I asked, curiosity piqued. Nina's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh, I'm sorry! Of course, you don't know who she is. You should consider yourself lucky – she's the worst." She rolled her eyes dramatically before continuing, "I mean, she acts all nice around the Greys, but she's a complete witch to everyone else."

While Nina and Emerie bound the one living goon, Nicholas stormed up to Gray, who was still being pinned down by Noah and Marcus. “Shift,” Nicholas commanded, the cold authority in his voice making even me flinch. “Now.” Gray didn’t obey right away, but rather glared up at Nicholas with that cold fire in his eyes. However, when Noah loosed a warning growl aimed at Gray’s throat, Gray finally returned to his human form. He was breathless and disheveled, his silver hair slick with sweat and his nostrils flaring. “Tie them up,” Nicholas said without hesitation. “Place them in the cellar under guard. They’ve taken silverbite, so they might still be aggressive.”

I opened the door. The photo hadn't done him any favors in either direction. He was tall in the way that actually registers, the kind of tall where you recalibrate the space around a person. Dark coat, no tie, a jaw that looked like it had been designed to make people feel vaguely outmatched. His eyes were gray. Not blue-gray or warm gray. Just gray, the color of sky before something serious happens in it. He looked at me the way people look at things they are trying to understand.

Terry jogged towards him and noticed his heavy aura. It’s as if, Gray was angry. A scene that rarely happens. Even when he was young, he was never fond of showing his emotions. It’s as if he’s just made from a block of ice that isn’t capable of feeling any emotions. He’s just liked his cousin, Ruan. Although at least for Ruan, he can fake a grin, or even roar in anger. And now, Gray seemed mad. “Where did you go? You weren’t in your room all night. Did something happen?”

Confused, I glanced up and realized that I wasn't alone in this space. Across from me sat a guy, holding a blunt in his hand. His gaze locked onto mine, and in that moment, I almost forgot why I had been crying. His beautiful dark skin glowed under the moonlight, adorned with an array of tattoos that covered every inch of his body. Neatly braided cornrows cascaded down his shoulders, and his chiseled jaw tensed intermittently. His lips had a captivating shade of pink-a striking combination of features. And then there were his eyes. A light shade of gray, almost blending with the white of his eyes. They possessed a cold yet captivating allure.

This Cadet put a hand on Gray's shoulder and said, "Oh, you poor thing!" "Jack, you snooping bastard!" Gray held him by his collar, "Don't you dare tell this to others!" Contrary to Gray's warning, Jack cleared up his throat and barked, "Hey guys, come look at this! Gray got the Chakra Freak," "What!" "No way!" "Poor guy!" "I wanna see how this plays out!" "This is gonna be hilarious," Ignoring the mocking comments, Gray rushed out of the training grounds with a visible frustration on his face. They all were almost halfway through the program, and by now they already knew about the famous Chakra Freak.

What's going on? "Impossible." The old man says. The man that asked me to prove myself smiles and he nods. "like the color of the moon, dark grey bright and beautiful." He says and I'm taken aback. What? How? My eyes have always been that silver-brown color. Like Nathan's how is it a different color now? I close my eyes and open them. As much as I would like to understand this whole thing right now I want to save my cousin.

He asked, immediately taking notice to Aaron's hair. Aaron felt pleased, for some strange reason. "Blonde is bold, you know." He tried joking. "You mean black?" Adrian asked. "Blonde is bold," Aaron said. "Black is a rebel, while brown, is... In the gray. Just like yours." "Mine. Right." He ran his hand through his hair. "But I still like blonde hair. I think I might get mine dyed soon." Clearly it was the liquor talking, but Aaron felt the urge to just squeal like some cheerleader who just a thank you letter from her jocky crush.

He pushed it back into the fire and straightened to greet me. Every time I had seen this man, he embodied the words dark and mysterious. However, being this close to him drove that idea home. Whereas every other Draygon that I had met in this village was tinged with gold and had a slightly tanned complexion, Nerrian was dark. His short hair that barely brushed his shoulders was jet black, and his eyes were a matching shade causing both to stand out on his amazingly pale skin that held no tinge of green. Even the robes he wore were black, giving the impression of a quintessential Dark Wizard that would put me under his spell before taking over the world.
