I didn't even try to stop them. Beside me, Harris exhaled deeply, rubbing a hand over his face like the weight of the world had just been lifted. But mine hadn't, because Nathaniel was still out there. I wiped my tears and straightened, as my anger returned. That's when Harris said quietly, “I'll speak to the administration. Marcus's identity has to be confidential. No one can know he's Mattoe twin.”

He lived with his grandfather, Joseph Lachlan who was one of the richest men listed by Forbes. Nathaniel never talked much but always stood up against the bullies who targeted weak people. His one menacing look made the bullies question their existence. I sighed in relief when I saw my classroom from my peripheral vision.
