And I still feel like he was here, beside me guarding me twenty-four-seven. A lot has changed.

Finale One year had passed since that pivotal afternoon in Kate’s apartment, when she had sat on the couch, wrestling with the weight of her future. Now, as she walked across the bustling college campus, her steps were lighter, her heart fuller. The past year had been a whirlwind of change, growth, and unexpected joys. She had been hiding from the young man later on. However, one year later, the young man still found her. After not seeing each other for one year, the young man had matured quite a bit. He told her that he had become a key debater in his debate club. He was even working as an intern at a law firm near his college. He had become a slightly experienced paralegal. Once he graduated, he would have an official job and could take on cases. He told her that he could bring her daughter to live with them as well. He would support both Hana and her daughter. He wanted to marry Hana.

, I grab my empty lunchbox and walk away from there. Those dumbheads don't even call me. Who cares? But maybe it's okay that Samuel is being a jerk to me at least for once. I just nod my head in agreement, then he drives away. As soon as he drove off, I felt tired all of a sudden, even though I hadn’t done anything yet, but It happens every time I get a notification from my driver, telling me he’s going to pick me up by 3 pm like he just did now, and it happens every fucking day and I’m pretty much used to it by now. But just because I’m used to it, doesn’t mean I’m okay. I let out a deep sigh after the chain of thoughts ran through my head, attracting Lisa’s attention.

******* 1 Month Later I had to take one month break from the college so that I could take care of my parents. The operations of my parents were done and by the grace of god both of them were doing absolutely amazing. The doctors said that it was a good thing that they were recovering fast. Though they still weren't able to stand on their feet but in about one month or so, they will be able to start the practice of walking.

I can't cross that line. One year. I'll take everything she can give me in a year and when the contract's off, we can go back to our lives and I can put it all behind me. Sounds easy enough.
