yet it had been a moment in my life I'd chosen a path to save a life instead. However, the fact that rogues had two of these in their possession was crazy in itself. The silver that was used to easily poison, restrain and kill our kind was no ordinary thing and was referred to as silver 'kissed by moonlight'. Its properties included being able to stop the inflicted from being able to use their abilities; whether that be silver handcuffs to stop shifting and strength, or a knife to stop healing. The way the ore was handled before being crafted was a closely guarded secret and I'd heard was also very difficult to execute; knowledge reserved strictly to Elders and a select few only.

"Gladly… I’ll let her go if you leave Adrian alone. Take two steps back, open the drawer on your right and stab yourself in the neck with the syringe you will find in there." Glancing at the terrified pup, my heart thundered for her. Any small mistake and her throat will be pulled out. I took a few steps behind and did as Antonio instructed. "What the hell is in this syringe?" I asked just as I jabbed myself with it. Antonio chuckled. "Just pure silver to tame your beast." My eyes rounded just as my insides felt like they were on fire. Silver was often used in small amounts because it was deadly and it was usually diluted. But this was concentrated.

He sighs, “Okay, we’ll start with the least pure, which I’m sure you’ll be absolutely fine with, and work our way up to the bar of pure silver we found on some human on our lands. We have no idea what he planned to do with it; it’s literally an ingot of the stuff.” He points to a solid bar of silver with the sterling mark on it, she hums, “But it’s definitely the ‘good’ stuff.” She nods, she wanted to start at the hard end, but understands his caution.

Silver was ofter used in small concentration because it's was diluted but this one was pure concentration. I fell to the bed as I felt my wolf retreated back to it cage. "I told you not to underestimate her but you did, have you forgotten about her gene? What gene? I heard Damien scolding Sander from afar, their voices were slowly fading away. The small dose of silver made me weaker, I couldn't even feel my toes anymore. "Ouch! Easy with your touch, she almost pulled my heart to my stomach, why does it seem like she had gotten stronger over the month?"

The weight of the ocean should have crushed us instantly. The sheer physics of the Atlantic at that depth was a death sentence for any biological creature. I hummed, pretending to appear disinterested, “you can never go wrong with silver.” He nodded, following my lead. “Are you… sure?” the clerk questioned with some worry. “You would fare much better with stainless steel or even titanium.” Silver was, unfortunately, a rare metal in our lands and, even so, one that was scarcely used. Most werewolves had some minor aversion to such a pure substance—a flaw even the Moon Goddess herself couldn’t reverse. But it mattered not. If silver was what Maeve wanted, she would get it. “No, he’s right,” Burke interjected. “My intended happens to love silver.”

Kael hoped they wouldn't be needed. The Silver One came alone, emerging from the forest with the silent grace that all vampires seemed to possess. They were tall, taller than Kael had expected, with silver hair that fell past their shoulders and silver eyes that seemed to glow in the morning light. Their face was neither male nor female, neither young nor old, caught somewhere between, and their expression was unreadable. "Alpha Kael."
