I have no reason to believe that I would ever know how long I’m out and, really, there may be no concept of time here so there is nothing to measure. I try to open my eyes, but I’m not able to. I strain to try to pry my eyes open, but there is nothing except, there is a faint sound. I concentrate, trying to figure out what the sound is. It seems to be some sort of beeping. Long task I know. First opening my eyes then to get up and then to check the windows and to close the curtains. Ufff....alas! I have to do it. Slowly I started to open my eyes but wait!! I can't open my eyes!! what the hell... am I dreaming? I pinched myself and came to know that I ain't dreaming it's reality... that... I can't open my eyes. I tried again... and again and again. Not helping... Let's call for help.

As sweet as that honey might be, I would not be having a taste. I set my alarm for five a.m. and tried like hell to relax so I could get some sleep. Soon I’d be starting a four-week rotation for cardiology, and I'll be needing all my focus. But even though I'm exhausted, I'm still too wound up tight for sleep to come easily. I heaved an annoyed sigh. Sure would be nice to blow off some steam with a tumble between the sheets . . . God dammit, no. Don’t even think about it. That just isn't in the cards for Hera and me.

I don't usually sleep well, I wake up countless times to catch my breath when sleeping. I wake up to pee more than five times, the doctor says I'm suffering from sleep apnea, says the reason why I blank out sometimes is because I forget what to say and so it takes time for my brain and body to be back to normal, and maybe I might be sleeping while my eyes were wide open.

Not willing to disturb his peaceful sleep, he suppresses the emptiness within his heart and tries to fall asleep by himself. But even after a long time, he is just unable to fall asleep. His eyes are still wide open as day. He sits up feeling frustrated and reaches for his cell phone from the bed table beside him and looks at the time. It’s now around 4-5 am. He gently gets off from the bed and quietly heads towards the bathroom. *****

She woke with a start and didn’t know why she was wide awake. She listened in the darkness and heard his soft breathing behind her as she had been somewhat pushed into the wall. She couldn’t think of the reason why she was so awake, though. He was not restless, nor were there any noises in the house or any alerts going off from the cameras.

I close the app and turn the lamp off. I sleep, in the end, very well.

I exhale deeply with one eye open looking at my clock. 2:45am shit I better get some sleep

I close my eyes and try to give myself to sleep, but my senses won’t turn off. I’m in for a wild ride with this one.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD Once again, I turn over and pick up my cell phone to see the time 2:05 am, apparently, I won't be able to sleep. Maybe if I could relax I could sleep a few hours, I search in the app store for one of those famous relaxing apps, I d******d it quickly and put it to work, fluff the pillow and adjust the blanket. As the music plays, I make an effort to loosen my tense muscles, I try not to think about anything but instead let the soft melody take over my senses and lead me to a peaceful state of sleep.
