Smiling faintly at that name, Zane reached out for the sugar packet and ripped it open, mixing it with his coffee as he said, “Let him in.” After she left the room, it took a couple of minutes before Zane and Yoko heard someone knocking on his door again, and once he did, “Come in,” Aaron Parker walked inside. “Hello, Mr. Parker.” Zane greeted, reaching for the coffee and taking a sip. “Hello, Mr. Briggs- I mean, Grimes.” Mr. Parker responded, moving forward until he stood in front of the desk, then he lowered his voice and said, “I'm sorry to bother you with such things, but I believe that I need your help.”

"He's family too!" Just then, Mr. Burke walked in. He went to Jade directly as they shared and handshake. Mr. Burke was also a black man. He was happy married to the Chairman's second daughter, Betty. "Nice too meet you." He greeted Sapphire, and she slightly bowed her head to him in respect. "Congratulations sir. Your paintings are wonderful." Jade commented. "Thanks, Jade. Your aunt couldn't come, but she misses you a lot. You know that, right?" "Yes I know." Jade nodded his head positively whole Sapphire smiled. Meanwhile, another, young and handsome guy looked amazed when he saw her. He was discussing with the photographer when he saw Sapphire, he couldn't take his gaze off her.

“Come on, Mr. Parker. I am disappointed.” He was letting her move around because she was looking happy. If she wants to play then he will play as long as she keeps smiling. After whatever she had been through in the morning, she needed this laughter more than him. His ears found it like a melody and his heart bloomed when she chuckled. He was feeling happy when she smiled. He could move mountains for her laughter. Wait, what was he thinking? He shook his head and tried to focus on her but she had disappeared. The feeling of her fading away from in front of his eyes wasn’t good. He didn’t want her to fade.

“Stop dreaming!” To my great surprise, Mrs. Parker approached me with a gentle smile and greeted me warmly. She even apologized as if whatever she said on that video call was something she just said yesterday. She extended her right hand forward as if she was offering a handshake and I had no way to deny her. “Mrs. Parker,” I greeted back politely. “Mister Parker. I swear I didn't know you were Mac’s family.”

“Damn, he’s real!” I didn’t stop. Didn’t wave. Didn’t smile. I just kept walking, jaw tight, eyes forward. This place used to be mine. My kingdom. Before it all blew up in my face. I didn’t bother knocking. Just shoved the door open and walked in. Mr. Parker was already in his chair, his ridiculous, squeaky revolver chair, leaning back like he owned the world. A cigarette hung from his lips, lighter flicking under it. His belly strained against his suit as if it was trying to escape.

Parker. “Are you hurting her?" He asked dangerously. Mr. Parker's eyes narrowed and snapped. “What are you doing here boy?! YOU INSOLENT BASTARD!" Sandra though sighed, unaffected and softly she said. “I'm a little late for my yoga appointment. So men, if you'll excuse me, I will leave you to your troubles and you can settle this in your own barbaric ways. Just please, tone it down... my daughter is having her nappy.”

Parker suddenly asked, breaking her thoughts. “Huh? Did you say something, Uncle Parker?” Lydia asked, unsure if she’d heard correctly. “I asked if you’re afraid of me,” Parker repeated, his tone a mix of curiosity and amusement. Lydia paused, momentarily taken aback, before shaking her head. He wasn’t frightening, despite his imposing stature, fierce demeanor, and the intimidating reputation of being Mr. Parker. When he smiled or laughed, it was as if the world brightened. “I’m just an ordinary man,” Parker said with a soft smile. “I express myself straightforwardly, just like how I feel about you.”

"But that doesn't guarantee anyone's safety." Cole nodded and I squeezed his hand as I saw the tension begin to leave his body. "Thank you, Mr. Parker," I said, and he gave me a small smile. "Of course." "Let's go, dear. As the ruler of the demon world, you have a lot of people who want to talk to you." Mrs. Parker started to tug on his arm, and he nodded, then my eyes froze at her words. "Very well. You two enjoy the rest of the party, Chase too." His eyes locked with Cole's for a moment, giving him a smirk before he walked down the hall and disappeared from sight.

Parker whispered reassuringly. "Thanks."
