I stare at the two red lines on the white strip I hold between my fingers. A smile spreads across my face as a wave of euphoria rushes through me. Thalia gasped, stepping forward at the same time as her mother did. "Oh, my sweet little girl!" The older woman wept when they embraced, her hands cupping Thalia's cheeks. "I thought the goddess had cursed up and I would never see you again!" "I know mama, but I'm right here." Thalia smiled. "Where is papa and the others?" "They're inside." The woman replied, glancing at the two men behind Thalia before she seemed to realise her little girl was heavily pregnant. "You're pregnant! Who is the father? Is it that Dante man?"

Mom broke down sobbing so hard that she nearly collapsed. "Leanne! Leanne! Please, you have to save my daughter! She's pregnant!" Adam's eyes were wild and bloodshot as he lunged toward the burning building, but the firefighters held him back. He screamed until his voice cracked. "Let me go! I have to save my wife!" Another hour passed before the fire was finally extinguished. The firefighters carried a charred, unrecognizable female corpse out of the rubble. Her belly was swollen and round, unmistakably pregnant.

Zelda was on my side, wasn’t she? “She came to help me think of ways to push Katherine out,” I said quietly. She smiled. “I see you haven’t given up on that huh,” “Why would I?” I said and laughed. “She doesn’t belong here.” Zelda looked away at the flowers. “I’m just saying… be careful. You think Dacre doesn’t notice things, but he does.” I rolled my eyes. “If he noticed anything, I wouldn’t be in this house.” Zelda didn’t laugh. She stared at me, serious now. “Exactly. You’re still in this house. Don’t ruin that. That girl has power now. Not real power, but the kind that makes people soft. Sympathy. She’s pregnant.”

However, that night, she passed out while preparing my meal. I took her straight to the clinic, where the healer examined her. After a few minutes of silence, he looked up at me, his face filled with confusion. “What's wrong?” I questioned, genuinely concerned. “She’s pregnant, Alpha. She’s carrying a child.” My heart stopped.

I decided to go and see the pack healer later that day to find out what was happening to me. “How are you feeling now Serena?” The pack healer asked me. “I’m good,” I said while trying to sit on the bed. “What’s wrong with me? I hope it’s not a bad illness?” I uttered. She smiled. “You are not sick at all.” I furrowed my brows in confusion. “What do you mean by that?” “You are pregnant Serena. You are two weeks pregnant.” She revealed.

Around the seventh month of my pregnancy, I overheard a conversation between my mate, Zane Andrews, and Ciara Phillips, the she-wolf I had taken in out of compassion after her family was brutally slaughtered by rogues. In a sultry, flirtatious tone, Ciara purred, “Zane, my love, if your wife discovers that the fertilized egg I planted in her womb isn’t truly hers by blood, she’ll be devastated—perhaps to the point of despairing suicide, don’t you think?”

“You’re two months along. The shells are forming. We expect them to hatch in another six months.” Six months. Much shorter than a human pregnancy. Damien walked into the room as I was getting dressed. “How is it?” he asked. “Three,” I said. “We’re having three children.” His golden, slitted eyes lit up instantly, glowing with a warmth that was nothing like the “Doomsday Tyrant” of legends. “How do you feel?” he asked, coming over and gently helping me up. “Any discomfort?” “I feel good,” I said, leaning against his chest. “Better than I expected.”

I cut her short by sitting on the donkey chair. Pearl's belly was becoming more prominent and visible by the day, and the guards were drifting their respect slowly toward her as she was the only one to give the king a child, which would be soon. She has thought of several ways of terminating the pregnancy, but she couldn't lay her finger on one; she was dead frustrated and couldn't let little Pearl take her husband's attention.
