Let’s make this as fast as possible, okay?” “Yes, Your Majesty.” Raven scoffed quite loudly and returned her wicked side gaze to Aspen, who was still frowning. “Don’t worry, Aspen,” Raven said, “it will be over soon. You will get the rest you desire soon enough.”

Raven said sweetly, sipping her drink across the project table, “we meet again. Ready to stop pretending your boyfriend carried the pitch?” “He’s not my boyfriend.” “Mmhm. And I don’t strategically post shade tweets.” Ave ignored the bait. “Your prototype logic is a mess. You tried to scale the sensor grid without accounting for voltage drop. It spikes and dies.” “Oh, so now you care?” “I care about beating you. With or without Blake.” Raven raised a sculpted brow. “Funny. You only started winning when he showed up.” Ave’s jaw clenched. “You think he’s the reason I’m good? Try reading the code. I wrote it.”

“Can we skip the procedures?” Raven regretfully shook his head. “’ no,” “Agh fine.” he sat up. The normal procedure was very simple but at the same time, it was fucking tedious. Six months ago he had visited the nearby town and brought back the twins Kiran and Elijah. On the way, he left behind a scent trail. So to escape being tracked by the werewolves, he had to soak in a flower-infused water. “It’s ready,” raven took him over to the small poll of water. Raven’s POV It hadn’t been easy getting out of the penthouse. Raven hadn’t even been sure it was going to work. She knew she needed two things: Kade’s isolated index fingerprint and a full capture of his palm print. The first she lifted with scotch tape off the metallic buttons of the intensely elaborate espresso machine. The second she peeled with a sheet of saran wrap off the marble panel that read the palm print itself. A circular maneuver, but it worked. The elevator door opened. And escaped into the humid summer night.

“Bring the Black Coast shipment codes, the account access, and every fucking file you stole.” A sob caught painfully in my throat. What the hell were they talking about? “I swear I don’t know anything,” I whispered desperately. “I don’t even know who Ravens is.” One of the men barked out a laugh. “Damn. She really clueless.” “Not our fucking problem,” another muttered. The gun pressed harder into my skin and my breathing immediately turned shaky again. “You hear that, Ravens?” the man said into the phone. “Fourteen hours before we paint the floor with her brains.”

Raven sat on a stool, hands folded in her lap, eyes flicking nervously toward the hallway every few seconds. “Relax, baby bat. You look like you’re about to confess to murder,” Cherry said, popping her gum and fluffing her curls. “I’m not good at this,” Raven muttered. “That’s why I’m here. Now, listen.” Cherry leaned closer, eyes sharp but playful. “Ozzy’s a cockroach in a gold chain, but he’s dumb enough to be useful. All you gotta do is make him think you think he’s interesting. That’s it.”
