Violetta screamed, pulling me backward. However, the SUV was moving too fast, its tires screeching sharply against the road as it hurtled toward us. Violetta and I were forced against the roadside barrier with nowhere to retreat, our hearts almost stopping in terror. At the critical moment, a black car sped in from the side and executed a precise drift to block the SUV's path. Riccardo slammed on the brakes with a piercing screech, and the SUV came to a halt less than three feet away from us.

Raven looked up and caught her reflection in the mirror at the end of the room. Maybe she should have started off with this. It shouldn’t be too hard now to get an invite into the VIP room. She also noticed Oliver was still facing away from her.

I ask her. "We're probably going to need to shift. I'm not going to lie to you. When we shift the first time, it's going to be excruciatingly painful. Your body hasn't had time to change its structure, so it's going to feel like your body is ripping apart, but I promise it will only feel like this the first time." I'm not looking forward to the pain, but at least it will only be once. "Okay, when should we do it?" I ask anxiously. I want to get back to Shaun. Before Skye can answer, the van door opens. Later that evening I watched Raven leave her house and followed her. She went to the warehouse probably to grab tent and I quickly pulled the heavy wooden door shut behind her, and quietly twisted the lock from the outside.

“I was poisoned with wolfs bane more times than I could count, but my mother did this for me, and I’ll do the same for you.” “How do I know I can still shift?” I wanted to itch my gums, but I clenched my fists instead. “Take wolfs bane daily. Once you have mastered covering your scent, we will stop for a while until your first shift comes on. Then every day you will take the wolfs bane, and then try to shift. Once you body has built up enough resistance to it, and you can shift still, we can move on to the next thing.” “What’s the next thing?” I was out of my depths. “Why do I even need to do this?”

“W-what?” I could hear Raven stammer behind, but my mind was otherwise preoccupied. I’ve heard about shifting. We were taught about it. How it is painful because your bones are basically shifting, re-aligning themselves to those of a wolf. There’s always been excitement towards someone's first shift… But along with that, there is always fear. Fear of the oncoming pain. I won’t lie and say that I am not nervous. I am, but at the same time, I am at peace. I mean, the pains of shifting can’t be as bad as the ones from yesterday, right?

I needed rest if I was going to bypass a pack of wolves to someone I didn't even know. Soon, it was dusk and it was time to attack. "Look at us, Ari. Two wolves making a difference. You should shift to your wolf form" Raven shifted in a minute. "I give the orders" i reminded her but she rolled her eyes. I ignored her and started talking.

I die if I jump, i could climb but then I risk the chance of falling and dying anyway, or I could give myself a fighting chance but could still die from the form i take to try and survive. Might as well go down fighting. "Let's do it raven. I trust you." I feel my fingers elongate to accommodate the claws. My vision changes showing me every little nook and cranny, magnifying evry little bug. I can hear their voices more clearly now, thanks to ravens hearing. "Did you see the way alpha looked at the new girl? I mean I don't blame him, but I've never seen him like that before" male 1 said.

She was shivering in pain, folding herself up, trying hard to breathe through the pain. Tears fell from her eyes, I couldn't bear to see her in pain but there was nothing I could do. I didn’t know what to do or how to help her. I looked up at Derek and Dale for help but they only stared back at me lost. A voice suddenly says “Oh my God! She’s shifting”. This brings my attention back to Raven, I could see her change begin, shocked at what i’m witnessing right now, I slowly back away, giving her space to shift.
