"It is reported that the murder was committed by Susan Jones, the wife of the old director of Jones Group..." None of them survived. Charles, Derek, Samantha, Jenson, and Susan—all of them died. "Mrs. Jones left a suicide note, claiming that this was done for her daughter Celine..." I could no longer process the words I heard after that.

Evan smiled, and before anyone could anticipate it, he used the scalpel to stab himself in the heart. Standing beside Evan, I screamed and cried. Countless people walked through me to try and save Evan. Alas, he was indeed an exceptional medical examiner. He knew the fastest way to die. Evan's body continued to twitch slightly. In his final moment, I saw him pointing toward me with his finger. He seemed to have spotted me. Smiling, he closed his eyes, putting an end to the last of his lingering attachment to this world. The situation descended into chaos as another medical examiner shook his head, signifying to Henry that Evan was dead.

After a thorough investigation by the production team, the details of my past were quickly uncovered. They also confirmed with the relevant authorities that I had, in fact, already passed away. His arm dangled over the side of the rubber-covered hospital mattress. He was still now, as graceful in death as Geraldine hoped he had managed to be in life. Though of that, she wasn’t the judge and jury. Yes, the world may be ending, but she still believed in some things. The walls around the end of the bed, like the floor beneath those soon to squeak wheels, were adorned with ruby pinwheels of blood. It was an ugly, yet beautiful sight. Exquisite and pure.

And all because I wouldn’t date the son of a bitch my father was now dead, my family and consequently Jason’s title of Beta was revoked, and I would be forced into a torturous arrangement. Death was a tall 6'5", slim man with mostly pale skin. His arms, like his legs, were pitch black. His hair was long, about shoulder length, and almost as dark as his limbs. Death was wearing a dark purple robe that went down to the top of his shins with a hood on the back. The sleeves were long enough to cover his lanky arms. His office was a simple room, about eight-hundred square feet, with grey walls. There was a desk and a plaque behind the desk that reads "Memento Mori" Death didn't care for the plaque and often saw it as kind of a joke. He was given it as a gift though, so he kept it hung up at all times, hoping his new recruits wouldn't notice.
