I don’t know why, but something is rotten in my gut and it’s never wrong. We storm through the building, Roddy’s being the last room at the end of the long ass hallway. The door is locked and Grouch sticks his ear to it, then backs up and kicks it open. The immediate stench of death I know all too well hits my nose and I can’t believe nobody has noticed it. It’s at least fifteen doors from mine. Missile and Grouch storm in, but I can already see the lifeless body of Ryan “Roddy” Grimes on the bed. I step in the room and see a needle sticking right out of his fucking arm. His skin is already discolored, he’s been dead a couple days. And nobody even realized it. Some brotherhood we are.

He looked at me a little concerned. "I'm not leaving unless you come with me," I told him and squeezed his hand. He smiled back at me. "I don't know if you remember what happened the first time I visited your home and what I am, um, I'm Death and I'm immortal," I stated firmly and watched an array of emotions cross his eyes. "What does that even mean, you kill people and cannot die," he asked incredulously. I bit my lip and sighed.

Zayn laid hold of his shirt and snared, "Who the fvck are you all?" He laughed and sniffed with blood running out of his nose, "We are the revolution" He slowly let go of the body to the ground and the man was gone. He was dead. Zayn turned and his eyes met with that of Allegra whose fist was tightened. She said to him, "Another dead end, these guys keep dying like it's nothing" "It sounds strange but they die after saying, Hail, Alpha Ajax. Like an activator for the death or something"

Tick. Then, a growl. “Death is here.”

Death has no regard for anyone, regardless of size, class, religion, or anything else. Death doesn't inform before it shows up at the door of an individual. Death doesn't make friends with anyone. Everybody is going to be dead one day, just give them time. Death is the penalty we all pay for the privilege of life. Death, for all his power, cannot carry water from the river with a sieve. Death, taxes and childbirth! There’s never any convenient time for any of them. A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic Death is not the opposite of life, but a part of it

Someone's POV ‘Death, an irreversible cessation of all vital functions a human body has. A permanent stoppage of the heart's beat. Sighing of last breath. Not being able to wake up the next morning. Unable to see how the sun rose. A reality humans fear to encounter; poor souls.’ Elle yawned as she thought to herself, tapping the table, boredly staring nowhere. From time to time, her eyes would caught a glimpse of the doctor who was scrolling on her background profile.

I pause, making sure I have his full attention. “Death.”
