I screamed as he swung his sword toward me. I watched as his eyes went blank and his face relaxed. I knew, even though my magic was still weak, I had him under my control. I commanded him to drop his sword before stepping closer and wrapping my arms around him. I could feel his resistance to my spell as he flew us back to the entrance of my home. As soon as we entered, I dropped my control on the vamps, hoping the blood that had been shed would be enough to send them into a frenzy. As an extra precaution, I cast a spell blocking anyone else from entering the premises.

I chuckled lightly, revealing my fangs a little and she immediately looked away. "You need to have your blood all over the relic. Because she has been dessicated for so many years, she'll first need the blood of a powerful being. The race doesn't matter." Kara said, turning to look at me. Without a word, I walked to the front of the table where the relic and the other materials needed for the spell were. Picking up the blade on the table, I slit my palm with it and emptied my blood on the nearby bowl. Vampires heal very quickly, so the cut healed in no time. I repeated the same process again and this time, I noticed it only took a matter of time for it to heal.

She muttered, “B’tzel u’V’shtoka, Machshavtek Di Li.“ It was an ancient spell that Lorna had not used in almost a millennium. It was a risk as she did not know if the spell would work. But they suddenly grew heavy and still. The snowflakes flying around slowed, and the vampire's pupils constricted as his body stiffened. He stood up and knelt down in submission in front of Lorna. She smiled. The spell worked, and now the vampire was hers to control.

And as each vampire drank, she recited a chant for the potions effect to be activated, "Sorvex vampyri, veneficus draconis , Zarathrax nocturnum, umbra potentis".

He was getting restless. The sound of rocks falling nearby caught everyone’s attention. Whatever it was, it was close. Elsa smiled. She had a new idea. One that she prayed to the spirits would work. Slipping her hand to her neck, she pulled on the cowhide strand until her talisman appeared.
