She looked up as the others entered. “Well?” Miriam dropped the duplicate key into her palm. “Victory,” she said simply. Samuel plopped down next to Mika, tossing the pen to her. “Adonis’s favorite. Probably sleeps with it under his pillow.” Mika giggled, spinning it once. “This is better than jewelry.” Fiero leaned back, head tipping against the couch, exhaling slow. “We’re in.” At 6:45 AM, Adonis Hale stirred. Sunlight filtered through his thick curtains in soft slats. He rubbed his eyes, pushed back the covers, and sat up.

She sighs before continuing, her voice soft but filled with something distant, like she’s stepping back into a memory she never truly left. “I remember looking up at him and thinking he looked like Adonis,” she says with a faint, bittersweet smile. “He was so handsome, and his eyes, they were the most beautiful I had ever seen. When he smiled at me and said sorry, I knew I was already in trouble.”

I didn't have any special bond with anyone like that. "Good morning, sir," I kept my smile simple. Mr. Adonis's office was big, but not as big as the ridiculous ones they showed on tv. There were two long couches, one small desk by the window that showed the magnificent view of the city and a door by the left side of his desk. The decor of the office was pretty simple and cool. Adonis looked away from the document in his hands and to look at me. Holy- He had reading glasses on, and his hair was tied in a messy bun on the top of his head, so as he looked up, a few strands of hair covered his face.

She’s just one of Adonis quest. Which gives me another valid reason to despise him. He’s an unrepentant womanizer, almost dragging Liam to the pits of hell with his irresponsible and sour attitude. I smirk. VIN'S POV I take my seat beside Sharon, my younger sister as the meeting begins. "Don't tell me you had to deal with Annalisa again," she whispered beside me and I silently nod in acknowledgment. "That girl is such a pain in the ass, if only we didn't need her she would have long been gone from our lives," Sharon whispered again and I couldn't help but sigh. The outcome of today's voting is enough reason for me to be nervous. I steal a glance at Director Grayson again and find him signing in his vote.

I bet it wasn’t new to them. Adonis’s smirk disappeared, and a cold aura surrounded him. His personality had been flickering every minute between carefree and strict. He didn’t know how to behave with me around his men, which reminded me more of the people I had desperately wanted to forget for all these years, of the memories that kept me awake at night. I stood. “I should get going for today.” Adonis frowned and studied me. Only if he could. He wasn’t the only expert at masking his emotions. “I just remembered I have a deadline today and I need to work on that ASAP.”
