A perfect cover for an- "Ambush!" Marc yelled only a moment before the first body launched itself from a branch and hit the roof of their car. Thaddeus didn't slow down. On the contrary, she could hear the whine of the engine as he gave the vehicle more gas, hurtling them along the treacherous drive.

It was from the hospital. My perfect and careless Sunday had shattered with that one phone call. It was horrifying how one moment was all it took to make my previous worries seem insignificant.
