Then Ryan Mercer, the Rogue Alpha who could not be commanded, slowly lowered himself to one knee. This time, nothing forced him. It was purely his choice. Damien stared. Gail covered her mouth. Roland went completely still. Ryan bowed his head. “My wolf recognizes yours.” Elena couldn’t breathe. “My strength recognizes yours.”

The rogue wolves behind him growled lowly, watching Edward and Daniel for any sudden movements. “I must admit, Clara,” Alpha Robin sneered, his voice dripping with mockery. “I didn’t expect you to follow these two alphas into my den. How bold, how— stupid.” He crouched slightly, bringing his face closer to hers. “But then again, I’ve always admired your fire.” Clara didn’t flinch. Her gaze was steady, her lips curling into a faint, challenging smile. “You talk too much, Robin. It’s no wonder you’re always a step behind everyone else.”

The witches sacrificed these rogues to distract us. I tear one off my shoulder and sink my teeth into its throat. Blood fills my mouth. The thing doesn’t even scream, just dies with wide, unblinking eyes. Another one charges, and I rake it down with my claws, my wolf in full control now. I don’t have time to savor the kill. I’m fighting like hell to get to her. “Roxy!” I try through the mind-link. Nothing. I whip around and see Roxy, just for a heartbeat. She’s limp, draped across a horse like a broken doll. And she’s with her–-the witch.

"You can feel it. People are unsettled. They are looking for something to hold on to, something familiar to cling on to. And now we have that. We have a face to put to the enemy. A traitor to our cause..." I turn to face him. "She is not our enemy," I protest. "She is a rogue wolf. She has killed our kind. She has killed our pack mates. What more do you want? She has admitted it herself." "I don't know what to do, Robin." "Do you want me to handle this?" I look at him. "No." "She is dangerous," Robin says. "She is our enemy. I don't care what kind of power she has over you. She is not to be trusted."

I rethought my words carefully as Motty patiently waited for my question, his eyes on his hands. "Peradventure..." Motty looked up to me in a 'Yes' way, fully eager to glean what I had to say, the confusing thing I had to say. I tried again, this time embodying myself as someone else and referring to that person, who wasn't me. "Peradventure a wolf, like in your myths," I decided to direct it back at him so he'd remember that he'd actually been the one to start this conversation, irrespective of the fact that I'd been reading it myself before he came along.

She asked and we nodded. After she left, Caius heaved out loudly. "We should bathe and go see her." Owen nodded in agreement so we all agreed to meet up again in thirty minutes. As much as Luna Allison can comfort our wolf, Sophia's presence would be more beneficial for us. Our wolf recognizes Luna Allison but it is more loyal and submissive to Sophia. Alexios should be on his way already, he had said he is going to rush up and take a bath, so we would be joining the two.

The wolf, who had been busy chewing up Gavin, spat out his shoe and growled menacingly, followed by jumping on me. I sidestepped, but the wolf managed to push me down with its left paw. I let out a loud cry of pain when I felt it sink its teeth into my shoulder, but before any damage could be done, the wolf immediately retracted its teeth, taking a step back away from me, its green eyes staring at me as if staring right through my soul. From the corner of my eye, I saw Taylor throw a silver bomb at the wolf, who immediately growled out in pain, shifting into a very naked and muscular man, Alpha Alexander Pierce, my biggest enemy!

Not really energetic enough to walk back, the brunette sat with her back resting on a tree and her eyes started scanning the place around her. "A nice forest?" Ruby commented, releasing a deep breath and looking down at her hands in sadness, "Did you really have to go, Mira? You promised and now...what am I supposed to do?" She whispered lowly, her eyelids needed sleep but she was too afraid to close her eyes. She heard a twig snap and looked around in alarm. Ruby gasped at what she saw, frozen in place as she stared at yellow eyes with amber-gold swirls. Eyes that belonged to a wolf. A werewolf.

Let’s not encourage this foolishness.” “Everyone knows a mate strengthens a werewolf!” Robin replied. “When the mate’s not a distraction!” My dad looked angered at being argued with. I was surprised at Robin’s boldness. She usually knew better than to get into an argument with my father. “That’s enough of this talk. Let’s eat.” His word was always final.
