Marc bolted upright, breathing hard, his eyes frantically scanning the darkness.
He almost bolted. The instinct to flee on the heels of his strange nightmare was strong. Only the recollection he wasn't alone kept him from engaging in a mad dash into the woods.
Antonia, who'd stopped speaking to him after his announcement of Pack Law, stirred. She whimpered and tossed.
"No," she muttered. "No. He's dead. Evil comes. Must hide. Must run."
