‘I know… but a wolf can dream.
I focus back on my breathing and my pace, driving through my glutes and hamstrings as I power up the hill. The sound of footsteps behind me grows fainter, though a few still hold steady. I smile inwardly, pleased that Greg’s been pushing the guys hard. I don’t accelerate—there’s no point. This pace is punishing enough, and it’s only a warm-up.
My feet pound through the kilometres. My breathing stays steady as I fall into that familiar, meditative rhythm. I love running. And I love running in my home pack territory even more.
