“Hayes?” Jax said, brows lifting as the door slammed shut. “What the hell are you doing?” “Go,” Ryder snapped, already reaching for the seatbelt, hands a little too rough. “Just drive.” Jax huffed a laugh, incredulous. His fingers stayed loose on the steering wheel. “You’re a really shitty hitchhiker, Hayes. What is this—some kind of power trip? You want me chauffeuring you around now?” Ryder’s head whipped toward him. “Power trip?” He let out a sharp breath, heat flaring. “Oh, you’re one to fucking talk.”

“Juice please.” I opened the folder about the RYD Estate. It gave me an overview of their company. Their mission, vision, employees, awards and recognition and then their other achievements. The last page was about the CEO of the RYD Estate and my eyes widened after I saw a familiar name printed on the paper. Rogue Adams Ryder? Huh? Rogue Adams? Was it the same Rogue Adams I know? I gasped. If this is the same Rogue Adams I have in my mind, then he’s not an ordinary person. He’s filthy rich and…he didn’t tell me? It’s not like he’s obligated to tell me everything. I didn’t ask him either.

I spotted Spencer and Ryder across the crowd, his eyes locked on mine for a brief moment before he nodded and continued on his way. Ryder stood at around 6'1" with a lean yet athletic build, honed from years of running and training in the woods. His skin had a warm, golden undertone, a testament to his mixed heritage, unlike my pale own. His grey eyes were a striking feature, seeming to gleam with a mix of intensity and kindness, depending on his mood.

This emits another groan from Ryders. I don't intend to introduce Ryder to any more of my criminal contacts and I only say contacts cause not all of them are what anyone would consider friends. As Ryder's already pointed out, he is an FBI agent and he's very much into upholding the law. Constantly parading criminals in front of him is risking his job. He's supposed to be bringing them in, not turning a blind eye because of me. Ryder groans yet again and his fingers go up to his head, massaging his forehead. "You're giving me a migraine."

I chose to ignore it because beggers like me cannot choose. * "You are here" Ryder observes as I step into his underground house. This is where his run ins are done His boys are all seated waiting for his orders. There are seven of them in sight. "I am here" I affirm even though it is obvious he was asking rhetorically. "So who am I meeting?" I ask dragging a sit as Ryder takes a puff of his cigar. His eyes scan me warily before he motions for one of his men whose name is Terry to bring in something. "We are taking this into Mayflower hotel" he says as Terry drops the stuff on the table.
