Heart's Desire
I demanded, my voice firm, but my heart pounding in my chest.
He didn't respond. Instead, he took a step towards me, his movements slow and deliberate. My breath caught in my throat. His stern gaze, his jaw set hard, sent a shiver down my spine. I stiffened, my back pressed against the door, my body a statue of fear. Especially when he raised one hand and propped it against the door, his other hand tucked in his pocket, the gesture both menacing and alluring. It felt like something churned in my stomach, a mixture of fear and anticipation.
