The heavy obsidian doors shattered into a shower of black splinters. Through the dust and the rising steam, a horde of monstrous, shadow-covered creatures surged into the ancient cavern. They were not ordinary wolves; their bodies were warped by dark, void-tainted magic, their eyes glowing a sinister crimson, and their elongated claws dripping with viscous, acidic venom. Dominic’s inner wolf let out a feral, bloodthirsty roar that shook the columns of the hall. "Clara, stay behind the throne!" Dominic commanded, his voice laced with absolute, tyrannical authority.

"Just don't be afraid of me. If it bothers you, don't look." With those words, he seemed to dissolve into a thick stack of black fog. His face peered from the center and took on a horrifying, almost demonic appearance, with glowing red eyes and elongated features made of the same fog. Emily opened her mouth in a silent scream, but the only sound that emerged was an almost inaudible squeak. "Don't look," he commanded, his voice sounding like a haunted howl of wind. "Hold on tight," he instructed as the group barreled through the line of werewolves and into the night.

“I’m just glad we haven’t been giving the new ones any wolfsbane. Who knows? Maybe they’ll learn to control it on their own.” Gray nods and offers Bo a wide grin. “Maybe. They’ll be a hell of a lot better than us if they do.” We all know the truth though. Lycanthropy is a curse. There is no way to control it. Not on the full moon. “Come,” Bo says, knocking me out of the dooming thought of our near future. He puts a hand on my back, lightly guiding me to start walking. “Alazaer is down by twin hills, waiting for the others to come back,” he tells us.

The same strength sucking world she’d insisted on walking one last time before the boys got back. I looked down at her, eyes closed, teeth clenched, struggling to hang on. I balanced her silver ring, a gift from our Mother, on my knee and pulled my grey sleeve over my finger tips, dabbing at the beading sweat on her forehead. Something was happening in the Blacklands and for the first time in memory, Shades were crossing the Southern boundry in droves, bringing with them their violet sky and starless nights. They didn’t eat, they didn’t sleep, they didn’t stop. They just kept coming, pushing us back and taking our land, leaving a sea of dead bodies in their wake.

“Stop. Don’t go out there!” “I can’t,” I cry. “I don’t know what’s happening!” Then something moves. Fast. A black blur swooshes past us like smoke with claws. It knocks into me, hard, and I hit the ground so fast the breath is punched from my lungs. “What the hell was that?!” I scream, scrambling up, sword in hand. Zev’s already moving. “A shuck.” “A what?!” “A shuck,” he says, his voice urgent. “Undead werewolf. Black as night. Strong. Fast. And impossible to kill.”

I said as I pull my sword from my holster belt when I feel that dark aura coming towards us. Vlash look around and when he sees those moving bushes he pulls his sword. “What the… what ARE those?” I utter in disgust when I clearly see who or what are those approaching creatures. I see some small looking naked ugly little creatures like dwarves but look so scary and their bodies look like of those zombies. Their faces are covered in bandages, their eyes are orange, they have long sharp ears, no nose and they are holding weapons and spears as they run towards us. “Those are ‘limpets’ they are like the dark opposite of dwarves. They are scary and they kill people. They serve the black goddess.”

Aiden stood guardedly in front of Iris, his wolf form bristling as he barked. Unnaturally fast, the shadow creatures moved in a smooth yet dangerous manner. With its claws tearing through the air, one lunged at Lucian. He narrowly landed a counterstrike after dodging. As Iris called forth another surge of energy, her hands shook. She whispered, her voice trembling, "These aren't your typical wolves." “No,” said Damon, his smile growing. "Darkness itself is their birthplace. They are also ravenous for light. When Iris' strength was released, the energy tore through a number of the shadow creatures. However, it appeared that a new one appeared for each one she destroyed.

From the depths of the portal, nightmarish creatures began to emerge—twisted forms of beasts that seemed to be born from the darkest nightmares. “Behold!” Drax’s voice boomed, resonating with a sinister glee. “You think you can stand against me? I will unleash a horde that will drown you in despair!” Xienma’s heart sank as she took in the grotesque figures that crawled forth—monsters with jagged teeth, eyes that glimmered like shards of broken glass, and bodies that seemed to distort and shift. The very essence of fear radiated from them, and she felt the weight of dread settle over her like a heavy cloak.

I said with my voice barely above a whisper. Ardan nodded with his eyes scanning the area. “We’re not getting in without a fight.” As if on cue, a low growl rumbled from the shadows. Dozens of glowing eyes appeared in the darkness, accompanied by the sound of heavy footsteps and snapping branches. The creatures emerged one by one with their forms twisted and grotesque. Wolves with elongated limbs and glowing red eyes, bears with matted fur and unnatural spikes protruding from their backs, and smaller, unidentifiable creatures that moved with unsettling speed.

Every wolf for themselves- true lab motto. I run full speed and jump over them, jumping in front of her. I push her behind me and bare my teeth, “1005, where the hell have you been!?” she screams. The Shadow beings are nasty creatures. Foam comes from their mouths and their eyes are black and hollow. They smell disgusting and all they want to do is kill and eat. “I couldn’t find any deer. I looked all night, but these fuckers have cleared the forest of them. I didn’t want you three to give me shit so I looked for as long as I could!” I lie.
