"What?? You can't... You gave me your word." Nathan's smile grew even wider, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Yes, I did give you my word," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I have a perfect answer for your question, remember?" Mr. Daniel's face contorted in confusion, his eyes narrowing as he struggled to understand Nathan's words. Nathan's smirk grew even wider as he delivered the final blow. "You have your Phrase and Clause starting with the word 'Death'."

But then it comes again-a quiet, deliberate tap against the glass. Slowly, I set my phone down and slide off the bed, my feet sinking into the carpet. My pulse thunders in my ears as I walk toward the window, my fingers trembling as I pull back the curtain. Nathan. He's standing outside, his hands shoved into his jacket pockets, his expression unreadable. His dark hair, looks almost like silver, and his eyes lock onto mine the moment I peek out. I hesitate, my hand hovering over the latch. What is he doing here?

Chapter 22: In which she is about to get a memorable date night. "You know, this walk of shame usually comes after a night full of hot, passionate sex?" "Why are you so cranky this morning?" I'm not promising that though 😅. AN: I want you guys thoughts on this question, *sigh*. I'm conflicted, very conflicted on how to describe Nathaniel's character because in my book where I've written the manuscript of this book although, it's a very short story with maybe 28 chapters. I described Nathaniel as a dark lover in my written manuscript but with you guys now, I'm having second thoughts of changing him to cheesy, lovesick guy yet possessive though I've already changed him to that.

He had already forgotten the name of the niece and her boyfriend, and thus decided to omit the names rather than mentioning a random name and ended up getting it wrong. Reed chuckled. “Oh, dear. Let me tell you which one is which so you could at least know their name.” He turned to Nathan and smirked. “If you are lucky, I might even tell you their darkest secret.” Nathan's heart thumped in his chest. Who was Declan? He had no idea either. But that was not the important point. Was this anything like the drama of those filthy rich families he often watched

It might be a lot to take but I hope you’ll listen to it with an open heart.” This is it, he decides. After their time at the amusement park, Nathan decided to tell Halsey everything about their past. She needs to know. Now that he knows where Anita Jones is, he’s gonna rescue her that night and make her talk. He will also tell Halsey the truth after rescuing Anita Jones.

I took a deep breath and told myself I couldn’t stay in here forever. Pushing the door open, a new wave of steam escaped ahead of me, into the dimly lit bedroom. The overhead light was off. His back was at me, shoulders were tense. his head bowed slightly as he looked out into the black night, one hand braced against the window frame. The pose spoke of a contained power, of waiting.
