Right before my flight took off, my phone was suddenly filled with missed calls. I didn't answer any of them. Instead, I snapped the SIM card in half and threw it into the trash bin. As soon as I got off the plane, I finally saw my mom, whom I hadn't seen in person for seven years. She looked much older than she had in our video calls, or maybe she had been using a filter. Suddenly, my tears wouldn't stop. She only patted my back and comforted me. "Come now, why are you crying so suddenly? Did you miss me that much? Whatever it is, we can talk about it after this."

~ Two Weeks Later: It's been two weeks since we have been staying here, our lives were quite normal, but it wasn't good. Good thing I saved the money I was earning from my old job. I was wishing Xavier could just come from nowhere and rescue us. Rescue? Tears flowed down my eyes, did I like Xavier? I think I do... I gulped hard to stop the sobs which were threatening to come out, the same sad tears turning into happy ones.

I will take good care of your car.” Dad gives him a brotherly hug. “You better take good care of my car or else I am going to make you buy me a new car.” All of us laugh and wave at Uncle Sam as we make our way into the airport. After having smoothly navigated through security checks, we are currently sitting down in our seats, waiting for our plane to depart which will be probably in a few more minutes. Mom dials Liam’s mom’s phone number to inform her that we’re moving to New York and that we’re already in the plane, while I just stare out of the window.
