I unknowingly shouted, altering Jessica and waking Maverick from his sleep. Maverick began to cry, and Jessica picked him up, holding him in a tight hug. She looked over at me, but I didn't miss the concerned expression on her face. I could tell that she knew that something was wrong, and was desperate to find out what had happened. I switched the phone over to speaker phone, knowing that Jessica desperately wanted to know what had happened. Thankfully, Maverick was too young to understand what was going on.

Lirvana clutched her head, dropping to her knees as the voice echoed again. It was piercing, like it was crawling through her skull. “Who are you?” she cried out. > “Help me... and I’ll tell you who I am.” Her breaths grew shaky. “Help you how?” > “Find the Moonmark.” “What?” she whispered, confused. “What is a Moonmark?” > “A mark…an etched moon symbol. Find its bearer.”

Even though the document he was viewing was finished with the screen and the computer turned off, he still sat facing the thin black screen. Sometimes Marco has to travel the world to control all of his business octopuses, he is a pack leader with dozens of businesses in various parts of the world. This time he will go with Jazzy. He will do what Alpha Xander suggested to him. He intends to seduce Jazzy so badly that she gets drunk with his affection… and in the end… accepts it as a whole. Marco hopes ... after his return from Greece someday ... he can have Alpha and Luna status.

“Now you have them.” Rico instantly tried lunging at him, but Marco’s men grabbed him tightly before he could move far. Marco’s laughter only grew louder, echoing through the empty field so harshly that birds nearby scattered into the sky. “And I’m starving for a game,” Marco said, scratching roughly at his hair. His eyes slowly moved toward the wooden boxes before returning to Rico. “So we’ll play one," Marco said in a sinister tone. Rico stopped struggling. Something cold crawled down his spine. Marco smiled wider. “It’s called…” he paused dramatically, “Save A Loved One.”

Vince came to stand beside her, hands in pockets, posture a soft bracket. “You all right?” he asked, quiet enough to belong to a kitchen table at midnight. She exhaled. The breath felt like surrender and claim both. “Yes.” Marco joined them, wiping rain from his brow with the back of his hand. “He had a Maretti mark,” he said. “Yeah,” she said.

It is obvious to her face that she is very displeased with the stolen shots.

Sabrina whispered and smiled up at him. “Besides, I'd prefer if the climax of the trip didn't occur on the first night,” Marco said, smiling from ear to ear. Sabrina couldn’t do more than beam up at him, her smile coming out from her chest. She remained seated as Marco bid her goodnight and kissed her cheek.

Lucas stammered, his voice faltering, "we've been friends for years. How could you betray me like this?" Marco's gaze narrowed, his hold on the gun tightening. "Friends? Is that what you think we are? I have no friends." Emma took a step forward, her voice trembling with anger. "What do you want from us? Are you working for the Maddox?" Marco's smirk returned, his eyes darting between Lucas, Emma, and Tina. "I don't work for anyone. I have my own motives, and they were falling into place until you three showed up." He turned to gesture at Tina, "And with her."

"MARCO‍, MOV‍E!" Marco saw it to​o late. "‍Shit!" He slam‍med the car⁠ into gear. WHOOSH.‍ A t⁠rail of‍ fire cu‌t through the rainy night. The rocket mi‍ssed our car⁠ by inches, slamming into the r‌usted water tow‌er beh‌ind us.​ BOOM. The e⁠xp⁠losi⁠on shook​ the heavy S‌UV.⁠ Metal r⁠ai‍ned down on the roo⁠f.

He knew in an instant that it was Travis's ship. A three mass ship with dark sails. It was the complete opposite of The Morning Star. It was dark. Even the wood the ship was made out of was darker. It's dark sails had a white crescent moon with a small silver star that dangled off the end of the moon. It looked haunting as it sailed towards the open ocean. Ghostly against the dark sky. Gavin's throat felt like it was closing as he watched it.
