The door creaked open, and Rose was ushered out, her body trembling with fear. The vehicle's doors slammed shut, enveloping Selena in a suffocating darkness. The engine roared to life, propelling them away from the chaos and leaving behind a trail of uncertainty. Inside the SUV, Selena's senses were heightened, her every nerve on edge. The smell of damp leather mixed with an unfamiliar musk, a scent that hinted at the presence of their captors. Her mind raced, piecing together fragments of information and searching for any clue that could unravel this enigma.

I tried to decide how I felt about it. Comforted, perhaps. By the warmth, by the unexpectedness of the kindness, by the fact that Lucas had grabbed my hand with such complete confidence that being led somewhere by a stranger's child had felt entirely natural. Unsettled too. But not in the way I had been unsettled on the plane, or in the weeks before the plane, that familiar low vibration of something unresolved sitting at the base of everything. This was a different quality of unsettled. Lighter. More like standing at the edge of something than like being caught in the middle of it.

The room hushes, anticipation hanging thick in the air. As Jonathan begins to unravel the unexpected narrative, the living room takes on an air of anticipation. His words weave a story none of us saw coming, a long-lost family secret, veiled in mystery. The details hang in the air, enticing yet undisclosed, leaving us suspended in suspense. The atmosphere in the room becomes charged with curiosity, and I exchange glances with Jim, sensing a shared sense of wonder.

Everything is disorganised and messy all of a sudden. Instead of answers, she was faced with even more questions. And not only that, it seemed that this kind of cycle has been going on for so long that she almost got used to it. This kind of cycle was like a cliche story line of a novel dealing with mystery, and somehow, this pisses her off. “Sure that the prolonged suspense was beneficial to hook them up, but it would be better for my mission to obtain the answers as soon as possible.” she muttered to herself as she walked in the driveway of her house and into the garage.

The slight lip on the edges wouldn’t prevent him from flying off on one of the turns if he weren’t careful. As if to prove his point, the platform took a sharp dip, then leveled with a jarring thud before fishtailing alarmingly. “Watch it up there!” he shouted, raising his head to glare at the crazy driver. Eyes tearing from the wind, hair tugged by its greedy fingers, he swore as the platform bounced. He’d kill this man! That opinion changed as he got a glimpse of what all the fuss was about. Ranged on every side, dark waves of Haunt filled the woods. Silent shadows fired on them as they sped past. He had a few suspects lined up the midpoint of the movie, but he wasn’t completely sure about any of them. “There’s going to be another murder,” Flynn said conspiractically once he had his three suspects chosen. Lucas turned around to look at him in surprise. Flynn was very confident about it, but he couldn’t see how he could tell. “How do you know that?” Flynn gave him a contemptuous look and explained patiently. “Look at the pacing of this, there’s clearly going to be another murder to keep the tension going or else the rest of its going to be really flat.”

It seemed like the perfect time to immerse myself in my reading. I wasn't a romantic woman so the novels that revolved around a love story seemed very boring to me. The book I was reading was suspenseful and I was very intrigued, I was so immersed in the story that I was really scared when my alarm went off. I grabbed my phone and read the reminder. It was time to study. I turned the page I was reading and put the book on my desk.

-Skylar- Suddenly, the pain stopped and everything around me looked completely different. Not in the sense that I was in a new environment, the way I was seeing everything was different. It was like I had a new pair of eyes; everything was much sharper. My nose filled with the most beautiful scent, cinnamon, my nose followed the scent, landing on Aspen. I looked at him, only to see him looking at me with complete and utter shock. I tried to get out some words, wanting to ask what was wrong, but nothing came out apart from a howl. Why was I howling?
