Peter replied with a smile, though his face was streaked with tears. "Is something wrong?" Serenity asked, concerned. "Uh, no! Nothing," he said quickly, wiping at his tears. "Doesn't look like nothing… Do you want to talk?" "Not really… To be honest, I don't even know who you are," Peter said, eyeing her with confusion. "Well… I'm Serenity Bartz, daughter of your best friend, Marcus Bartz—and now, wife of Alden Palmer. Your son…" Serenity explained as clearly as she could.

"That's not confirmed, but it looks a bit strange for him to be staying in a witch city known for not giving a damn about the Council, doesn't it?" I frowned at that. It could be a ploy, but it didn't feel likely. "Where is Tony?" I asked. "In Black Moon, playing watcher to someone being treated there. I'm waiting on some more information to trickle through, but I don't think I have to tell you that something had to have happened, yeah?" Tony had never liked Peter. To be fair, Peter had never liked Tony either. They were vastly older than me, but I remember the way they used to act around each other.

Peter took his seat behind his desk while Owen took a seat opposite Peter. "That must have been a wild night, Owen. Tell me all that has happened." Peter requested. "I will do that, Mr. Quinton; but before I share last night's events with you, I need to know something; and you are the only person that can answer my question." Owen replied calmly. "That sounds serious, Owen. What is your question?" Peter asked. "Mr. Quinton, is Jim Yates and the underground mafia working for you?" Owen asked directly. In Owen's mind, he knew Peter would want him to be direct when asking Peter questions. Therefore, Owen did not hesitate to ask about Jim to Peter, point blank directly.

Peter was always good with me and recently started to flirt with me. He and my best friend Katia are twins. They have the same characteristics, same blond hair and ocean blue eyes, both of them are tall but Peter is taller and more muscular. Tyler sat down and watched. Stephanie poured coffee. Peter grabbed at mugs before he could ask. Xander took his phone out of his pocket and furrowed his brows. I also looked at the screen and took a deep breath. “Let them rest here, Peter,” I instructed Peter. “Do…. Do you want them to stay here?” Peter asked me, and I nodded in response. “I need to take this call.” Xander whispered to me, and I gave him a curt nod. He kissed my temple and slowly released me from his embrace. “Yes, Peter. A simple rogue attack didn’t feel simple at all.” I said to Peter in a low and serious tone.

“Ms. Spencer, what if I told you I could get you out of that arrangement?” Xena’s eyes lit up at once, then quickly dimmed again. “Felix won’t let me go that easily. But thank you for the offer, Mr. Warren.” “No matter how capable Felix is, he’s nothing in my eyes.” Peter let out a dismissive snort. “I was fighting my way through the business world before he was even born. Why would I be afraid of him?” Xena bit her lip, still looking unconvinced. At that moment, Peter rose from his seat and walked over to her. He reached out and tilted her chin up, his eyes fixed on her.
