I could feel her body stiffen as I closed the distance. When I stopped beside her chair, I didn’t look at her immediately, I looked out the window instead, the city sprawled beneath us, glass and steel gleaming under the morning sun. “You’re right,” I said finally, voice calm, measured. “I don’t trust easily but you… you’ve proven something the others haven’t. You don’t break.” Her head snapped toward me. “You think I’m unbreakable?” “No. I think you bend and that’s far more useful.”

My phone rang again, and I hurried to answer, hoping it was Jessica changing her mind. But it wasn’t her. "Lucas! When are you sending over the hospital and hotel fees? "Lilith’s recovery requires better nutrition! You need to step up!" On the other end of the call, Lilith’s brother’s voice was shrill and demanding, filled with greed and threats. Clenching my fists, I felt my fury boil over. "Get lost!" I roared, slamming the phone onto the ground. Jessica’s departure had left me utterly drained, yet these people continued to suck the life out of me like leeches, greedily feeding off my blood.

Like a caterpillar or butterfly , she was beautiful and amazing when you looked closely . One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd." At least now I am stock in the middle of the forest with a broken ankle and no home of getting home" She says mockingly " At least you are alive" I remind. She should be more grateful, once there is life, there is hope. " You call this living. In the middle of no where, with no amenities. At this rate I will die from a wound infection before the cork crocks tomorrow" She grumbles

"What is this? Are you trying to make me feel better or something? Stop it, Allen. I don't need that kind of positive reinforcement. The fact is, I'm broken, right?" "Ash!" Aslan rolled his eyes. "What? Never mind, don't deny it. This has been my condition for a long time, right? Besides, I'm the one with the condition, you don't have to worry about it." Allen sighed. He knew Aslan just hated his condition, but Allen did not like it every time Aslan called himself broken. In Allen's eyes, Aslan was normal. A normal human being. He was just a little different from the other Alphas, and that did not change anything. He was still Allen's little brother, and Allen loved him.

"But... I'm broken and messed up and have pieces of me all over the place. That's not something anybody should have to deal with, Noah." I shrugged softly, "I don't care, Tiffany. I want you and if that comes with pieces all over the place then I'm okay with it. You don't get it," I chuckled softly, moving the hand that was cupping her face back to her hands to hold them gently in mine. "I can't unlove you. I can't forget the feeling of holding you when you sleep next to me. I can't forget how your eyes would get a bit bigger every time something surprising would happen in Prison Break. I can't forget the dreadful look on your face every time you walk in to math class, wanting it to be over

Just then, Brian came in with the others and we all consoled her, soon she stopped crying. "Baby I got something for you, "Brian said revealing a charm bracelet with over five charms on them. One I noticed signifies Ava and Alexis, another one was a doll with "Type 1 diabetics insulin dependent " written in a tiny font on it. And three other charms. "Do you like it? " "Yes daddy, I love it. " "Daddy got me one too, "Alexis said showing her own to her sister, it had the same charms but no inscription written on it.
