Maybe a guard. "Boss, is that you?" he asked. I stilled. My heart pounded down my chest. A little closer and he would see me. "Who is it?" He took a step closer. And I took one back. My breathing came out heavy. Perspiration ran down my spine. When he took two more steps closer, I turned around and ran. "Hey! Stop! Who are ya?" he yelled, before his heavy footsteps started to chase me. With my heart in my mouth, I ran as fast as I could. But the darkness and the unfamiliar hallways made it harder.

I have never heard her but the way my heart thudded I knew I wasn't wrong. "Amber?" I called out but no reply. I saw a piece of white cloth going in the right and I decided to follow it. A heard a melodious laugh. It was a person or more of a girl I was following. "You ain't faster than me momma." I heard a teasing voice and tears filled my eyes. It was my Amber. I increased my pace not caring once that I would fall. I stumbled once or twice but never stopped. My Amber was here.

Luke, lying lazily under one of the chairs, complained with a meow from her screeching voice and licked himself clean. "Are we going training or not?" I asked, as I swallowed the grape's sweet juices and skin. Chase was wearing his usual pair of sweatpants and a V-neck shirt, his hair showed he came from a quick shower. He smiled at me, reaching for the bowl of grapes. I smacked his hand but Chase was fast. He grabs my wrist before I could touch his skin. His smirking face was instantly replaced by concern.

Did I win the lottery? When my eyes catch a sight of Ashley walking towards the elevator as well, I immediately call her name. She slowly turns around and when she sees me she almost jumps to her feet and turn away, almost running for the elevator. I quickly run after her. When I reach the elevator, I catch her repeatedly pushing the button to close the door on me. I immediately get in. “Hey! Didn’t you see me earlier?” I ask her when the door closes in front of us. “Oh, Hi! You’re here, Betsy!” she says, her voice about six notches higher than usual. She avoids my critical gaze. “I didn’t notice you coming…”

Will she repeat what she did when we were in high school? "Hey! Wait for me!" I called for my friends. The classes have ended and we have decided that we’ll hang out together because they said they want me to treat them at the newly opened Ice Cream Parlor near our school. I almost stumbled on my feet while running after them, but they still wouldn't stop. "Guys!" No matter how loud I shout, they didn’t bother to pay attention to me. "Magie!" I stopped when I heard the name they just called. At the same time as they stopped walking, I also slowed down my pace to get closer to them.

I ran through the door. “Don’t let her escape.” I heard his voice that was filled with rage, he charged towards me. I sprinted through the hallway, it’s suffocating like the hallway in Jamie’s pack when I found out that Brake is fucking Ashley. My heart palpitations increase as I heard the heavy footsteps charging behind me, “you damn female, stop running,” he growled behind me, I could feel his fury raging in the hallway.

There was a chase beginning, and I would not falter. Not this time.

He was creating maximum chaos and terror. "This way," I whispered to Lexi, pulling her toward what I hoped was the direction of the kitchen. We needed to get out of the main room where Shaw had the advantage. We crawled along the floor, feeling our way past overturned chairs and broken glass. Around us, I could hear Agent Chen trying to coordinate her people over the sounds of panic. "Alpha team, move to the east exit. Bravo team, secure the perimeter. Where the hell are our lights?" Another gunshot, closer this time. A woman screamed, and I heard the heavy thud of someone falling.
