She felt the soft drizzle of rain spraying over, dampening the already wet soil.

The Tree began to move back toward him. Rising Void felt cold sweat trickling along his back and channeled a huge amount of the True Energy in his body before eventually managing to pull the Divine Tree back toward him for a bit. In this manner, the Tree shook here and there under the influence of their energies, almost half of its roots having left the earth by now. Obviously, it was not going to be able to withstand their pulling for much longer, and it was going to be completely uprooted soon. There also seemed to be strange noises coming deep from beneath the ground.

"All right. On three. One. Two. Three." They groaned and hoisted the tree up, moving it into the truck as pine needles littered the ground. It took a few tries to get it in the truck right, and by the time they were done, Marc was itching and sweaty. He glanced to their left to see another family getting a tree, but a worker in a machine was lifting it into the truck for them. "Really?" Marc put his hands on his hips and gave Jake a pointed look. "We don't need no help. We're men. Well, we are. You're still a boy." Drake clamped his hand down on Marc's shoulder.

The community center, which had once been her sanctuary, was now just another place that had let her down. Nysaa arrived at Dr. Ruiz's home, her heart heavy with the burden of her predicament. The third tree stood strong, radiating a golden warmth that gave Zoe a fleeting sense of comfort.

The night wind blew heavy, the trees swaying as if trying to hold on to their roots their last lifeline to the earth. Each gust roared like an angry spirit, and yet, they stood firm, gripping the soil as thunder cracked across the sky. "Wrecking Ball" played faintly in the background its echo carried by the wind through the thick forest as Riven's car sliced the darkness like a shadow on a mission. The music blended with the storm, a strange melody of heartbreak and violence.
