I clenched my fist as they gripped the steering wheel; hearing about this was beginning to piss me off. “Did you know he actually turned a human into a vampire so he could use him as his little minion?” Without thinking, I slammed on the brakes and the car squealed to a stop. “What the hell did you say?” I asked, glaring at her. Her eyes were wide and alarmed; she visibly swallowed a lump in her throat. “He turned a human into a vampire so he could use him as his minion,” she said, her tone much softer. “He didn’t trust another rogue, so he made himself a follower.”

He looked at me and smiled at me which is why my heartbeat quickened. He turned his eyes to the front again so I also turned my eyes to the front and saw that Fin's brothers were getting ready. "What's the plan?" Von asked. "In the place where we all stand, our witches wand won't work." said Leana. "We are Wolf Vampires, we can transform but not for long. Our kryptonites are all around us. He has his kryptonite." Von said. "The Pure Vampires, as far as I know, don't just rush to the gorbloyds because their target is us." Creed added.

POV: Victoria The first hunter was still tearing through the crowd when two more transformations began. I watched in frozen horror as a female wolf from Maya's group collapsed, her spine arching impossibly. Her screams cut through the chaos, raw and animal. Bones cracked and reformed. Skin split and healed and split again. Within seconds, another eight-foot monster rose where a person had been. Then a third. A young male from Seraphina's coalition. He'd been standing right next to me, helping organize the civilian evacuation. Now he was something else entirely. Something that looked at me with white, glowing eyes and saw only prey.

It was drawing in her energy—an infinity blade. He ran the blade over her throat, and I screamed. The world went silent. I panted and sobbed. I peered around. Everything was frozen. I could do it. I could rewrite time. I simply had to focus. Fear tried to crawl up my leg, but I knocked it down. I was a vampire and a wolf. I embraced both halves to make a whole. I pulled in a breath and drew energy from the ground, gathering it in my palms. I sent the energy out from my palms and all around. Time backed up, and backed up. It felt so slow and heavy, I didn’t know if I had the strength to save everyone.

He gradually tore his opponent into pieces until the vampire man no longer had a breath left in him. He let out a few pants and watched the figure lay motionlessly. He took out a fire box from his pocket and set the figure ablaze. Vampires could regenerate after being killed but burning them meant destroying their soul and body.
