Victor tapped the screen, setting the phone on the table in front of me. “Mr. President,” he said mockingly, “you’re live.”
Powell’s voice filled the room. “Dante.”
I raised my head, meeting the empty space as if he were there. “You sound older,” I said. “Guilt will do that.”
