DARK SEDUCTION
Melissa was already halfway to the door, still talking, her voice a mix of relief and excitement.
“Oh, by the way,” she said, turning back briefly, “the school announced we’ll be leaving soon. The storm’s calmed down, flights are back on, and they’re sending people to clear the roads. I’m so happy. I can’t wait to get back to my warm bed.”
I blinked, stunned. “Are you serious?” I squealed before catching myself.
Then it hit me, Mr Hale.
My excitement faltered, replaced by a sudden rush of realisation.
