Wherever the blades passed, the air seemed to tear, emitting a piercing screech. Cloudwalker's expression remained unchanged. He waved his fly whisk, and the golden light surged, the whisk's threads tracing graceful arcs in the air like golden chains, wrapping around each incoming black energy blade. With a flick of his wrist, the fly whisk snapped, instantly purifying the blades into wisps of black smoke that dissipated into the air.

“I guess I have to go,” I said quickly. I foolishly took steps at a normal human speed. As a result, Justin managed to stop me again and get in my way. “Are you a wolvire?” Justin asked suddenly. I called the wind first: "Ventus," then willed it tighter, faster. The air shrieked as a small cyclone formed between my outstretched palms, swirling leaves and sand around and around. I let out a whoop of wild, giddy laughter.
