I murmur.
I approach. I grab the blanket, pull it up over his shoulders, rub his arms, his shoulders, his back, anything to get the blood circulating, to bring a little warmth back to this frozen body. His skin is frozen, almost painful under my fingers, with a coldness that reminds me of death. He is still trembling, but he looks at me. He looks at me as if I were the only source of warmth in the universe, as if my presence were enough to warm him, to save him, to make him live.
