She had chosen a thistle instead of a lily, because the lily is the flower of the Mother of Wolves. She was already the last one. The last one must make way for the new. The new one will have her own flower. She planted the thistle to pave the road for her successor. Thistles can survive at seventy below zero. Can take root in that thin, narrow transition layer between frozen soil and permafrost.

Here, the stone walls felt like they were slowly closing in, trying to crush the wilderness right out of me. Desperate to feel closer to the ground, I bypassed the low stone benches. Sibyl’s POV A breeze came and I smelled a very nice scent. The smell was light, mixed with the scent of roses and Lily of the valley, and a hint of post-rain grass. I sniffed, OH, it also has the smell of the Phoenix Flower. The Phoenix Flower is a nearly extinct flower. It is very strict with the temperature, light and humidity of the living environment, so it is difficult for them to survive.
