“I don’t need you to bring the contents out of the house.” He returned to her, his hand outstretched. In his palm lay a sleek, silver fountain pen. It looked expensive, elegant. “I need you to photograph them. Every single page.” He looked directly into her eyes. “This pen is a high-resolution camera. One click activates the lens. A second click takes a photograph. You will have fifteen minutes inside. Not a second more.” Elena stared at the pen as if it were a scorpion. “The door…” she whispered, her mind racing for an escape hatch.
